She graduated in Medicine from the University of Valencia in 1987. Between 1989 and 1992 she completed her pediatric residency at the HUiP La Fe in Valencia, specializing in the field of neonatology. Since 1994 she is staff member of the Division of Neonatology of the Hospital La Fe. In 2009 she became head of the department of neonatology and since 2013 she is head of the neonatal unit. During her career she has always been interested in teaching, and therefore, since 2005, she is tutor for residency physicists at the Hospital La Fe and at present she is coordinating the Área de Simulación Pediátrica. Furthermore, since 2011 she works as an associate professor in Pediatrics at the University of Valencia.

She also focused her career on neonatal reanimation and critical neonatal transport. She is member of the Spanish Society of Neonatal Reanimation Group since 1999. Since 2008, she leads the Group of Critic Neonatal Transport in Valencia and Castellón.

Since 1991 she is involved in the study of the infant sudden death. In fact, she is the coordinator of the Group of study of the Infant Sudden Death of the Paediatric Spanish Association.

She also collaborates with other societies working in Perinatology, like the Commission of Perinatology of the Public Health Department created for the edition of the book “Cuidados del recién nacido” in 2006, the Commission of Follow up of the Pregnancy in 2007 and the Commission of Standards of the Spanish Neonatology Society since 2005.

She is a member of the Sociedad Valenciana de Pediatría and the Sociedad Española de Pediatría since 1991. Since 1994 she is a member of the Sociedad Española de Neonatología, forming part of its executive board since 2004. Since 2000, she belongs to the Group of Neonatal Reanimation of the Sociedad Española de Neonatología. In addition, she coordinates the working group for the study and prevention of the sudden infant death syndrome since 1991.
